Cartela AB is Through its novel and proprietary integrin targets, CARTELA is developing new therapeutic approaches to arthritic diseases, including osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Treatment based on these integrin targets allows a unique therapeutic strategy, where cartilage destruction can be slowed down and cartilage repair stimulated. Antibody candidates for medical therapy, diagnostics and for cell-based therapy have already been identified by CARTELA and are currently undergoing further validation. Research centered on two collagen-binding integrins, alpha 10 and alpha 11, present on the cell surface of connective tissue cells.
