Machines and computers were supposed to let us work less, but globalization and corpoate interests means more work and more stress, strain family and marital life, that and genetic engineering may turn us into robots whose only purpose is turning out goods and services. Advertising, globalization, immigration, and corporations induce us to work too much to the detriment of family life, and combined with genetic engineering this urge to produce more could result in humans becoming almost robotic workers.
